Cell Phones Don't Cause Cancer

According to a major Danish study, it was concluded that there is no connection between long-term or short-term cell phone use and tumors of the eyes, brain, or salivary glands. Researchers at the Danish Institute of Cancer Epidemiology in Copenhagen studied over 400,000 cell phone users between 1982 and 1995, then tracked their health through 2002.

Specs for the iPhone...Sorta...

Kevin Rose, founder of www.Digg.com, has released what are believed to be the features of Apple's long-rumored iPhone. Allegedly, the device will have a slide-out keypad, an MP3 player, two batteries (one for the phone and one for the MP3 player), and will come out in 4GB and 8GB models. The devices will be priced at $249 and $449 respectively, and are said to be released for all three major carriers.

Whether this is all true or not is still up for debate. However, knowing Apple's penchant for unveiling even the slightest hint of a new product and with Macworld '07 a few weeks away, it's very likely that Big Daddy Steve Jobs will reveal the actual specifications of Apple's ROKR killer (Haha, just kidding - the ROKR's already dead). It is also possible that the phone is just a figment of our overactive geeky imaginations. The world may never know...until January.

Check out YouTube to see the vodcast (video podcast - I know...I hate it too) of Kevin and his fellow Digg cohorts spoiling Apple's big secret.

Retro or Emo? Either Way, This Case is for You

While perusing the web, I discovered a case for the iPod that, surprisingly, was different from anything else on the market. It isn't a hard plastic case or a rubber sleeve, but rather a canvas case. Belkin makes a canvas case for Apple's precious baby, but theirs isn't nearly as hip as this one. This iPod accessory is modeled after the Chuck Taylor Converse All Star!

The case is produced by Speck Products (http://www.speckproducts.com/) and is made of canvas on the front and back, with a button clasp in the back to hold the device in place. The rubber on the sides is in the same diamond pattern as seen on the shoes and even sports the color stripe running along side. There is a plastic cover sewn inside to protect the screen from scratches and dust particles, while the clickwheel is exposed to the elements. Also, a belt clip on the back makes it easy to take your iPod with you anywhere. Be Aware: This case does add some bulk to the iPod and makes it difficult/impossible to use with certain docking stations. Also, the hold button and headphone jack are hard to reach with the case on.

The iPod Canvas Sport is sold in three colors - Black, White, and Pink - and is available for the 30/60 GB iPods, the Nano, as well as other devices like the Treo and Motorola SLVR. Check out the link above for detailed specs and ordering information.
