eBay Add-On for Firefox

Mozilla has released the "Firefox eBay Companion" for users to test.

"The eBay add-on is a sidebar that synchronizes with the eBay auction and e-commerce site, and displays alerts as items are sold or change status. It also has an integrated search tool. For security, it uses Firefox’s antiphishing technology and eBay’s Account Guard feature, which also detects spoof Web sites," according to Macworld.

Right now, the beta is only available in the U.K., Germany, and France. The U.S. release will be sometime in the future.

AOL is back...I Guess

AOL, the original web superstar, has revamped its entire site to allow for more customization and ease of use. It's worth a look, even if it probably won't lure you away from your Google homepage.

Blog Burst of '07

According to the CNet News Blog and Newsweek, the amount of active blogs has decreased significantly compared to the total number of blogs tracked by Technorati. The article has some quotes from different sources as to their reactions on the matter and why this is happening.

I've got a question to any of my readers: Do you have a blog? If so, do you regularly maintain it? If you don't have one or you did and you stopped blogging - why? I'd love to know.

I know I need to maintain mine more frequently and I apologize for that. I'll do my best to keep things fresh. Keep reading!

No iPod on Test Day

Apparently, many schools are banning iPods on test days due to their abilities to store notes and cheating materials in the lyrics section or note taking sections. Honestly, I think kids are pretty resourceful and will always find a way to cheat on a test. This is just a futile attempt by the faculty to exert a little more control on an uncontrollable group of people: tech savvy teens.

CoolestGadgets has the whole scoop.

It's-a-me, Mario!

ThinkGeek has a great way to use those long dorm hallways for something other than jousting or throwing up in after a great frat party: the RC Mario. This 12" x 12" plumber is seated upon a red go cart (or should I say "Kart"?) and comes with a remote control styled after a Gamecube controller. The coolest thing, however, is that he can repeat famous lines from the game (for those trash talk sessions with other racers). Check out the above link for more info.
