Great Deals and Great Holiday Gifts from Amazon!

Amazon is selling a Kingston 4GB SD card, normally about $30, for 8 bucks!

Also on Amazon, buy select Nintendo DS games and get one free!

Finally on Amazon, relive your childhood with the Fraggle Rock complete series DVD set! Don't pay attention to the poor reviews - they're pissy that HIT, which produces the DVDs, isn't releasing the 4th season on DVD - it's only included in the complete set.

Links to each item can be found further down the page (the DS link is the tiny one under the Kingston and Fraggle Rock boxes. Enjoy!

Some cool gadgets via Coolest Gadgets

1. MOTOZINE ZN5 - Motorola's newest cell phone entry focuses on photography, rather than multimedia like most other phones as of late. It's features include:
-Hi-res display
-Combination of Motorola's ModeShift technology and Kodak Imaging technology
-Fast click-to-click times
-5 megapixel camera
-Shutter button
-Flash and viewer
-Auto focus
-Xenon flash
-MicroSD memory card slot (with a complimentary 1GB microSD memory card included!)
-WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM and the standard cell phone fare.

2. MintPad: this is essentially a digital post-it for sending notes to people in class. It comes with a large stylus, 4GB of internal memory, and Wi-Fi. It also allows you to draw/write in color! Sadly, there are three things wrong with it - it's $156, you can only send notes to other MintPads, and it's only available in Korea.

3. Fujitsu LifeBook U820: a convertible notebook with a 5.6" display. Other features include:
-Touchscreen with included stylus
-Intel Atom 1.66 GHz processor
-1GB of RAM
-Choice of either 60GB or 120GB hard drive (or the pricier 64GB SSD)
-Wi-Fi
-GPS
-1.3 MP webcam
-SD/CF memory card slots

AT&T to Impose Data Caps

Beginning in Reno, Nevada this past weekend, AT&T began imposing data caps on it's plans. Here's the scoop from CNET:

"The test...limits customers of AT&T's slowest DSL service to 20 gigabytes of monthly data transfers, while users of the fastest service will be limited to 150 gigabytes. Customers will have access to an online tool to track their usage and will receive notification when they reach 80 percent. Those who exceed their limits will be charged $1 per gigabyte."

News Updates for 11-4-08

Happy Election Day, everyone!! I voted at 6AM this morning and now all I want to do is go back to bed. Unfortunately, I have to make a living and judging by the frequency with which I post, it isn't going to be by blogging.

However, I thought I'd post some of the more interesting news bits I've read about this week:

1. Circuit City is closing 155 stores! The economy, among other things, finally affected the electronics retail giant and it will soon be closing a ton of locations nationwide. They're also doing away with price-matching and many other in-store perks. Check out the story here: CNet Article

2. Nokia N96 announced for U.S.: "...the Americanized N96 sells only as an unlocked model that works with any GSM provider at an unsubsidized $895 price." Want: Nokia N96

3. Vote today and get free stuff!! - need I say more? Click here for details.

4. Oh yeah, and there's an election going on. GO VOTE!!
